Full job description

A well-established property management organization operating across Canada is currently seeking an experienced Live-In Building Manager to support the day-to-day operations of several residential properties located in a small community east of Red Deer, AB.

This opportunity is suited for a professional with experience in residential property management, building operations, or hospitality environments who enjoys working directly with residents while ensuring buildings operate efficiently and are maintained to a high standard.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting building operations, coordinating maintenance activities, assisting with leasing processes, and fostering positive resident relationships. Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to operational needs are essential.

Position Overview

The Live-In Building Manager will be responsible for assisting with operational oversight across multiple residential buildings. This role combines resident relations, maintenance coordination, and administrative support while ensuring buildings remain safe, well-maintained, and professionally managed.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of assigned residential properties.
  • Coordinate maintenance requests, service calls, and contractor activity.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure buildings are clean, safe, and operating properly.
  • Assist with unit turnovers and general property upkeep.
  • Respond to resident questions and concerns while maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Support leasing efforts and related administrative tasks when required.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and applicable housing regulations.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and assist with urgent issues when they arise.
  • Travel between buildings within the assigned portfolio as required.
  • Contribute to overall operational efficiency and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in property management, building operations, hospitality, or a similar environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to manage resident concerns professionally.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage responsibilities across several properties.
  • Working knowledge of general building maintenance and operations.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
  • Availability to after-hours on-call for emergency situations.
  • Familiarity with property management systems or software is considered an asset.

Preferred Experience

  • Managing or supporting multi-building residential portfolios
  • Understanding of residential tenancy practices and compliance standards
  • Background in facilities coordination, maintenance oversight, or hospitality leadership

Pay: $55,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
