Full job description

About AVIAREPS

AVIAREPS is a global leader in aviation and tourism representation, headquartered in Munich with a worldwide office network built over more than 30 years. We act as the local sales, marketing and PR arm for airlines, tourism boards, hotels and cruise brands — currently representing more than 120 airline clients alongside a broad portfolio of destinations. AVIAREPS Canada delivers trade, consumer and media representation across the Canadian market from coast to coast.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Trade Relations Executive based in Greater Vancouver to lead day-to-day engagement with Canada’s travel trade on behalf of our tourism board and airline clients. You will be the face of our client brands to tour operators, wholesalers, retail agency networks, consortia, host agencies and OTAs — building the relationships that convert into bookings, passengers and market share.

This is a relationship-driven, field-facing role for someone who is energized by industry events, agent training rooms and partner meetings, and who can translate that activity into measurable results for demanding international clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesTrade partner engagement

  • Build, manage and grow a portfolio of travel trade partners across Canada
  • Conduct regular sales calls, partner meetings and business reviews with tour operators, wholesalers, consortia and agency groups
  • Serve as first point of contact for trade partner questions on client destinations, products and air services

Training and product education

  • Design and deliver travel advisor training — in-person sessions, webinars, lunch-and-learns and e-learning modules
  • Keep partner-facing product knowledge current across client destinations and carriers

Events and trade activity

  • Plan and execute roadshows, sales missions, FAM trips and client trade events in the Canadian market
  • Represent client brands at Canadian and international trade shows and industry functions.

Commercial development

  • Develop joint marketing and co-op campaigns with operators and agency groups; negotiate and track deliverables
  • Monitor production, booking trends and campaign ROI; identify growth opportunities and underperforming accounts

Reporting and market intelligence

  • Maintain accurate partner, activity and pipeline records in CRM (HubSpot)
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly client reports covering trade activity, production and market intelligence
  • Track Canadian outbound travel trends, air capacity changes and competitive destination and carrier activity

What You BringRequired

  • Post-secondary education in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Business, Commerce or Marketing
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in travel trade sales, tour operations, airline or destination sales, or agency business development
  • Currently based in the Greater Vancouver Area and legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Confident presenting to groups of 10–100 travel advisors
  • Strong written and verbal English; proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace and CRM tools
  • Valid passport and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 35% of the time), including some evenings and weekends for trade events
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Considered a strong asset

  • Prior experience with a destination or tour operator — this is significant added value in our assessment
  • Experience working with consumer media and influencers — supporting earned media, content creator partnerships and press/influencer FAM visits
  • An established network across the Canadian travel trade
  • Experience representing a tourism board, airline, GSA or representation firm
  • GDS familiarity and working knowledge of airline fares and ticketing
  • A second language (French, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese or Spanish)
  • Familiarity with Asia-Pacific destination product
  • Existing relationships with Canadian consortia and host agency networks

What We Offer

  • Compensation of $65,000 – $75,000 CAD annualized, commensurate with experience
  • Fixed-term contract engagement of 12 months, renewable subject to client mandate
  • Hybrid / home-based working arrangement within Greater Vancouver
  • Direct exposure to internationally recognized tourism board and airline clients
  • Familiarization travel and industry event participation

How to Apply
