ASCO Aerospace Canada is a division of Montana Aerospace, with our facility located in Delta, BC. We are looking for a Finisher to join our team at the Canadian operations.

Job Duties

  • Perform finishing operations on machined aircraft components using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Perform edge breaking, de-burring, and blending of machined parts to specification.
  • Drill and ream parts as required by work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and workmanship standards are met.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints, drawings, and tolerance specifications.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area through regular housekeeping activities.
  • Support and participate in 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Keep informed of production priorities and adjust work accordingly to meet schedule requirements.
  • Report any quality concerns, damaged parts, equipment issues, or production problems to the Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production and quality objectives.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures and report any safety concerns.
  • Participate in training provided by ASCO or external providers.

Education and Experience

  • Previous cold work or related finishing experience is preferred.
  • Educational background or experience in a field requiring surface treatment skills, such as Automotive Body Work, is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
  • Basic blueprint reading skills with the ability to understand and interpret drawing tolerances and specifications preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to accommodate flexible work schedules, including shift work.

Applicants must have the ability, or willingness to learn:

  • Basic blueprint reading, to understand and interpret drawing tolerance specifications.
  • Aerospace specification requirements
  • Quality system requirements
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools

This is a physically demanding job and requires the following:

  • Excellent hand and eye coordination
  • Ability to perform metal finishing work while standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs (cranes and lifting devices are available)
  • Safe use of hand and power tools
  • Ability to wear extensive Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) throughout their shift.
