Nurse Next Door is dedicated to delivering flexible, premium care options to help seniors stay at home, because we know home is the safest place to be.

What we offer:

You will obtain certification as a Peritoneal Dialysis Caregiver, Nurse Next Door will provide the in depth training.

  • $23.00 per hour
  • this role is required to work Saturday and Sunday 4-8 hours daily
  • Servicing the Burnaby and New Westminster area
  • 24/7 support center to assist with scheduling related questions
  • 24/7 assistance related to your client’s care
  • In Home care with private clients
  • Paid mileage

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Meets safety standards, using equipment safely and accurately
  • Functions within the limits of the PD assist program and practices safely and competently within the job description
  • Assist with cycler setup, dismantle, and programming
  • Assist with daily weight assessments, daily blood pressure assessments
  • Assist with adding Heparin to dialysate
  • Electronic documentation of therapy numbers and visit notes
  • Responds to Care Services Center (CSC) Team regarding scheduling inquiries and updates within the agreed upon timeline
  • Engages in open communication with your Care Designer when opportunities to elevate your client’s experience and care are identified

Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
  • Current TB Screen and Criminal Record Check
  • Must be able to legally work in Canada to apply for this position
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is a must to travel locally to/from/between client’s homes.
  • Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely
  • Able to freely lift 20 kilograms
  • Registered Health Care Assistant and/or minimum 2 years homecare experience

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $23.00 per hour
