In Parksville, we will hire Life Redesign Coaches in a few phases as we open, so we ask for flexibility with regards to precise start date.
As a Life Redesign Coach, you will work in partnership with the people who live at CONNECT. Becoming a Life Redesign Coach does not require you to have a care aide background. CONNECT will provide you with an orientation and training on the job. We hire based on fit and then qualifications.
- Note: must be comfortable providing personal care when the need arises. Personal care includes helping someone get in/out of bed, washing, showering, bathing, cleaning teeth, shaving, going to the toilet, managing incontinence, eating, feeding and supporting nutrition through tube delivered products.
The Life Redesign Model includes:
- A culture of personal accountability, supported risk taking, social capital and meaningful community participation;
- Services planned around what the person wants more of in life. Participation in relevant life situations drives the individual’s goals;
- Service plans leveraging neuroplasticity by pursuing a person’s goals in real-life, non-institutional settings;
- A “doing-with” coaching approach with blended job roles and a multi-professional coaching team;
- Hire for fit based on personality and values before qualifications.
Our values are: Kindness, Flexibility, Creativity, Learning, Passion and Joy. If these values resonate with you, and if you’re interested in a diverse and rewarding career, we would love to hear from you!
Qualifications:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills – must enjoy working with, and helping others;
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to be flexible when needed;

- Ongoing training and education opportunities; and
- A rewarding career!
