Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Ukrainian Speaking Home Support Worker to provide exceptional in-home care for clients requiring assistance with daily activities. This role is ideal for individuals fluent in Ukrainian who are committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through personalized caregiving and support.

Duties

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide patient care and monitor health status, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals
  • Support with medication administration according to prescribed schedules and instructions
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
  • Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when necessary
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
  • Support clients with dementia or hospice care needs with patience and understanding
  • Document care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare teams

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Ukrainian is required; proficiency in English is preferred
  • Experience in assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of nursing home procedures, medication administration, and dementia care is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
  • Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills and patience
  • Prior experience in home care or nursing is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license is a plus for transportation purposes
