Full job description

We operate as Atlantic Ultima in beautiful Newfoundland!!

We offer a $21/hr starting wage, plus vacation pay. Vacation pay can be added to every pay or saved and requested when you want it.

ONLY Level 5 or level 5 II drivers with vehicle and insurance in their name will be considered.

This is community visiting covering St John's and Torbay. Visits are 2 hours long (or longer) and then you move onto your next client's home.

We are searching for HSW's who are dedicated to providing the type of care the we would want for our own loved ones and by offering our competitive wages and a phone allowance along with a dedicated support team to back you in the field we have been able to do just that. This is a community visiting positions available covering St John's and surrounding including Torbay, CBS and Mount Pear. This is home to home care visits are a minimum of 2 hour long and then you move onto your next client home.

This is a part time position, 3 weekdays (must be the same 3 weekdays each week) PLUS every other weekend both sat and sun. No exceptions.

The afternoon time frame is 1pm-9pm and the day time frame is 8am-4pm/9am-5pm.

Clients are grouped together for your day to minimize travel between and we do pay 40 cents/km between clients for mileage.

This is community visiting position so requires you have a drivers licence full class 5 or class 5 level II are required along with a reliable vehicle with insurance in your name.

This position does include clients that have behavioral issues, those with mental heath issues as well as with physical and intellectual exceptionalities.

Part time staff receive a $25 monthly phone allowance.

Requirements:

Vulnerable Sector Police Check in the last 6 months

HSW certificate preferred but we will consider direct CANADIAN HSW experience for hiring as well.

First aid and CPR certificate

TB test results from within 1 year or chest xray from within 2 years

Drivers licence (Full 5 or 5 level II), a reliable vehicle and insurance in your name.

Responsibilities:

Assisting clients with all aspects of daily living including personal hygiene, grooming and dressing

Familiar with home care protocols

Food preparation and/or assistance with feeding as required

Organized with documentation and reporting

Experience with dementia care and working with clients that have intellectual or physical challenges, promoting dignity and independence

Safe and accurate medication administration

Good communication skills with both clients and other staff

Light housekeeping such as: dishes, folding laundry etc
