Full job description

JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Recreation Program Aide to join our team in providing engaging activities and support to residents in long-term care. The ideal candidate will help foster a positive environment, promote social interaction, and enhance the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors and individuals requiring specialized care.

The Recreation Program Aide will work under the supervision of the Therapeutic Recreation Coordinators and will report to the Director of Programs. The Recreation Program Aide position will be required to develop and implement individual and group programs designed to motivate, activate, and promote mental, physical, social, intellectual. Should be a warm caring individual exhibiting good judgment and communication skills and be able to work with residents with responsive behaviours. Provides input into program planning. Participates as a team member.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a college or university
  • Certificate in Montessori Programming
  • Music Therapy is an asset
  • Preference will be given to those with good attendance record.

Pay: $23.70-$24.91 per hour
