The Job

The Houseperson is a vital part of creating exceptional guest experiences by helping maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming hotel environment. As a key member of our hospitality team, you'll support daily housekeeping operations by caring for public spaces, replenishing supplies, and responding to guest requests with efficiency and professionalism. What You'll Do

  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all hotel lobbies, entrances, and exits, both inside and outside.
  • Complete all duties on daily shift tasks sheets, initial name on completed tasks and provide reasons on sheet if the task could not be completed
  • Properly communicate and pass on updates and other relevant information for the next houseperson shift before leaving
  • Ensure all public washrooms, including those in the lower lobby, are cleaned, sanitized, and well-stocked throughout the day.
  • Clean and polish all glass surfaces in public areas; maintain the Business Centre’s cleanliness, organization, and lighting.
  • Vacuum and dust the Fitness Room; replenish towels and water, remove garbage, and ensure the area is guest-ready at all times.
  • Vacuum carpets and dust walls, baseboards, and trim in guestroom corridors to maintain a clean, polished appearance.
  • Inspect front and rear stairwells regularly for litter, spills, cobwebs, or dust; clean light fixtures and covers as needed.
  • Re-stock housekeeping pantries with paper products, bottled water, and other supplies as required.
  • Shampoo carpets and upholstery as requested, following proper cleaning procedures.
  • Clean and dust the Front Desk area, back offices, and administrative spaces daily.
  • Inspect and clean meeting rooms and public event spaces as needed.
  • Assist with guestroom cleaning or refreshing as assigned.
  • Support the Laundry department with washing, folding, or distribution of linens as required.
  • Remove all garbage and recyclables from pantries, ensuring proper waste separation and disposal.
  • Answer houseperson telephone promptly and professionally
  • Provide assistance to the Front Desk team by delivering towels, cots, cribs, or other guest items as needed.

The above areas of responsibility are not all inclusive and may be amended from time to time.

Who We're Looking For

  • Minimum Grade 10 education
  • Previous experience in a cleaning environment, preferably in a hotel setting considered an asset
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to use sound judgment in day to day activities and decision making
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be a team player
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively within a diverse team environment
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment with co-workers, managers, and guests
  • Ability to deal with customers in a polite and professional manner
  • Must be flexible to mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
