Title: Member Service Representative I

Reports to: Branch Manager

Location: Dundalk Branch: 79 Proton St N

Dundalk, Ont, N0C 1B0

Rate: $21.25/hr

Job Summary:

Provide and promote a full range of Credit Union products and services to members. Respond to member and client inquiries. Cross-sell credit union products or services to meet member needs. Process member transactions, handle various requests. Safeguard and balance cash under control. Ensure compliance with procedures, policies, MCC, AML and PIPEDA requirements. Sort and file routine branch documents.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in deposit building, consistently promoting and selling Credit Union products and services to both members and non-members.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to members, aiming to enhance member satisfaction with the service level provided.
  • Assist members by answering questions and delivering quality member service across a full range of financial services, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
  • Identify and fulfill members' financial needs, such as cashing/certifying cheques, receiving bill payments, ordering cheques, buying/selling foreign cash, processing member statements, personal money orders, and preparing applications for RRSP, RRIF, TFSA, Credit Union credit cards, and ATM cards. Ensure the accurate completion of relevant forms.
  • Process daily mail.
  • Stay up to date with all Credit Union products and services as they are introduced.
  • Maintain a daily blotter and balance own cash.
  • May be required to train other staff on basic MSR functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager, or designate.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Customer service orientation, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to details.
  • Experience with financial system.
  • Basic computer skills.
