Your Opportunity

Glen Eden Ski & Snowboard Centre is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Head Coach, Competitive Programs (MHRC) – Administrative to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of competitive alpine ski racing programs offered in partnership with the Milton Heights Racing Club (MHRC). Reporting to the Coordinator, Recreation Programs and working closely with the MHRC Board, Race Director, Technical Head Coach, and Recreation Programs Resource Supervisor this role provides leadership in program administration, seasonal planning, stakeholder communications, staffing coordination, and race event logistics. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating exceptional athlete and family experiences while ensuring programs are operated safely, efficiently, and in alignment with industry standards and best practices.

• Lead the annual planning, administration, and coordination of competitive ski racing programs, training schedules, and seasonal event calendars.
• Develop and maintain program descriptions, operational plans, participant communications, and athlete registration processes.
• Coordinate race schedules, athlete race registrations, training calendars, reporting, and parent feedback processes.
• Support the recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, payroll administration, and ongoing development of coaching staff.
• Develop, implement, and maintain risk management policies, program guides, and operational procedures for competitive programs.
• Works collaboratively with the Recreation Programs Resource Supervisor to support program delivery and respond to evolving operational needs.
• Collaborate with internal departments, coaches, volunteers, parents, governing bodies, and external partners to ensure effective communication and program success.
• Represent MHRC and Glen Eden at Alpine Ontario Association (AOA), Southern Ontario Division (SOD), and other industry meetings and planning sessions.
• Assist with budget planning and staffing forecasts that support program pricing, registration targets, and operational effectiveness.
• Coordinate volunteers, staff resources, and logistics for hosted races and special events.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional environment for athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers.

This position is ideal for a highly organized ski industry professional who enjoys combining sport administration, program planning, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership to create outstanding competitive racing experiences.

Your Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent competitive ski coaching experience within a club environment.
• Working knowledge of current Alpine Ontario, Alpine Canada, and related competitive ski racing organizations and requirements.
• Experience supporting coaching operations, athlete development programs, race events, or sport program administration.
• Knowledge of current coaching methodologies, racing club operations, and risk management practices.
• Understanding of current Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles and athlete progression models.
• Familiarity with present competitive alpine racing rules, standards, and Safe Sport requirements.
• Knowledge of program planning, scheduling, budgeting, and event coordination practices.
• Exceptional organizational, planning, and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers, and partners.
• Proven interpersonal and relationship-building skills, including the ability to navigate stakeholder and parent concerns professionally.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and changing operational requirements.
• Strong customer service focus with excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use organizational systems and software.
• Ability to prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and support administrative processes such as scheduling and payroll coordination.
• Ability to provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to staff and volunteers.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, on varied terrain.
• Able to lift up to 20 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
• Successful candidates are required to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSS) , to verify the absence of a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted (if over 18 years old). *Cost covered by Conservation Halton up to $30.00.
• A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G ”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required. *Abstract completed by Conservation Halton.

This is a part-time seasonal position averaging approximately 20 hours per week. The role offers a blend of administrative and operational responsibilities, with the majority of time spent coordinating programs, schedules, communications, staffing, and event logistics. Candidates must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to support training programs, race events, meetings, and other seasonal activities. The position includes both office-based work and outdoor work in winter conditions, with occasional travel to races and industry meetings.
