Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile team member to join our dedicated service crew. This unique role will allow you to explore all aspects of the service experience. As a team member at Betty’s, you won’t just be a server, bartender, or food handler—you’ll be all of them! You’ll have the opportunity to work in our new wine bar and on our cozy patio, providing outstanding service and contributing to our warm, welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service & Seating: Greet and seat guests, manage reservations, and ensure all guests feel welcomed and valued from start to finish.
• Service Excellence: Adhere to the restaurant’s established service standards and provide attentive, professional service to guests.
• Product Knowledge: Participate in information sessions about our menu, wines, and beers. Understanding these products and their pairings is integral to enhancing the Betty’s experience.
• Food Preparation: Assist with plating and preparing menu items such as shucking oysters, slicing deli meats, assembling grazing boards, and using a table-top convection oven for heating food.
• Beverage Service: Pour wine and beer with expertise, offer bottle service, and assist guests with pairing drinks and food.
• Cash Handling & POS: Maintain your own cash float, settle up with the bar at the end of your shift, and ensure accurate transactions using the POS system.
• Stock Management: Communicate effectively with The Bruce managers to ensure proper stock levels of food, deli meats, cheeses, and beverages.
• Section Management: Handle a full section while ensuring smooth operations throughout the restaurant, including managing multiple tables and customer needs.

Requirements:

• Smart Serve Certification (mandatory)
• Minimum 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced environment
• Safe Food Handler’s Certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Outstanding communication skills, both with customers and team members
• Solid knowledge or willingness to learn about food, wine, and craft beer pairings
• Previous experience with POS systems is an asset
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift up to 30 lbs, and bend for extended periods
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $20.00 per hour
