Full job description

Caroline Cellars Winery is a family owned and operated winery, banquet hall and restaurant in Niagara on the Lake. We pride ourselves in our customer experience and are looking for individuals who are passionate about customer service. We have a dynamic, passionate staff and are looking to add another dedicated member to our team. We are currently seeking experienced Line Cooks/Prep Cooks to work for a fast-paced lunch bistro as well as banquet service. Candidates must be able to work well within our team. We have full-time, year-round positions open (NOT seasonal). This position consist of mostly daytime shifts, but some evening shifts may be required for special events.

About the Role:

  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards including washing dishes
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

What you Bring:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Safe Food Handling certificate (or willingness to obtain)

Wage will be fully based on experience, with opportunities for advancement after 90 days of employment.

This job is located in Niagara-on-the-Lake - reliable transportation is a must.
