Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a key member of our restaurant management team, the Sous Chef will assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in the food industry to grow their leadership skills within a vibrant hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Culinary Director in managing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking processes
  • Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality food service
  • Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Lead food preparation activities, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor storage practices to minimize waste
  • Train and mentor team members on cooking techniques, food safety, and customer service best practices
  • Serve as a key point of contact during shifts to resolve operational issues promptly
  • Support restaurant management in implementing menu changes and special event preparations
  • Uphold a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, hospitality, and excellent service delivery

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • 2 years of supervising experience with demonstrated team management skills
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety protocols, and the food industry standards
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide staff effectively
  • Excellent understanding of restaurant management principles and food handling procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills with a focus on serving guests and supporting team collaboration
  • Prior restaurant experience is an Asset; familiarity with hospitality environments is highly valued
  • A passion for culinary excellence combined with professionalism and a commitment to quality service
