Job Description: Maki Maker / Sushi Roller

We are looking for a fast, detail-oriented, and skilled Maki Maker to join our kitchen team. If you specialize in rolling sushi and enjoy working in a dynamic, high-volume environment, we want to hear from you!

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maki Maker or Sushi Line Cook
  • Capacity to efficiently roll 100+ rolls per day quickly, tightly, and with consistent visual appeal
  • Basic prep skills (handling sushi rice, cutting vegetables, and preparing roll fillings)
  • Experience working in Eastern European cuisine environments (e.g., Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus) is a strong advantage
  • Excellent attention to detail, cleanliness, and strict adherence to food quality standards
  • Ability to maintain speed and efficiency during peak dining hours
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Produce a high volume of sushi (100+ rolls daily) according to our recipes and presentation standards
  • Complete daily prep work for the maki station (preparing rice, slicing vegetables, organizing fillings)
  • Ensure all orders are made in a timely manner, especially during busy rushes
  • Maintain strict cleanliness and organization of your workstation throughout the shift
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Work collaboratively with the Sushi Chef and the rest of the kitchen staff
