Full job description

We are looking for a dedicated Line Cook for a Middle Eastern Fast Food restaurant chain in Scarborough(Lawrence road).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, seasoning meat and storing food
  • Strong communication skills are required, as this role involves direct interaction with customers along with working in the kitchen.
  • Cook and plate menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
  • Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
  • Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system
  • Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
  • Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed

Job Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant position in the food industry
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Greeting customers on daily basis
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
  • Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
  • Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends
  • Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
  • Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
