Full job description

A growing commercial and industrial (C&I) solar EPC contractor in the Greater Toronto Area is hiring a licensed Ontario Master Electrician with hands-on solar experience. You will own the electrical scope of our rooftop and ground-mount PV projects — from interconnection design through energization and ESA final approval — and act as the on-site electrical authority and primary contact for engineers, the utility, and the ESA. This is a senior role with a path to serving as our Designated Master Electrician (DME).

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own the full electrical scope: DC strings, combiners, inverters, AC collection, metering, and utility interconnection.

- Interpret and red-line single-line diagrams and drawings; catch code and constructability issues before installation.

- Supervise installation of inverters, transformers, disconnects, and service tie-ins.

- Ensure compliance with the current OESC (Section 64 – renewable energy / solar PV) and CSA Z462 electrical safety.

- Coordinate ESA notifications, inspections, and deviations; maintain the inspection record.

- Supervise and mentor 309A journeypersons and apprentices.

REQUIRED

- Ontario Master Electrician in good standing

- Demonstrated C&I solar PV experience, including inverter commissioning and utility interconnection.

- Working knowledge of the OESC as applied to PV and distributed generation.

- Strong written and verbal communication.

- Valid Ontario driver's licence; able to work at rooftop heights (Working at Heights certified or willing to obtain).

PREFERRED

- Eligible and willing to serve as Designated Master Electrician (DME).

- Experience with 100–250 kW string inverters and net-metered / behind-the-meter C&I systems.

- Familiarity with ballasted rooftop racking and rooftop electrical layout.
