Full job description

Dynamic Security Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Low Voltage Security & AV Technician to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning a variety of low-voltage systems including structured cabling, Kantech access control, IP CCTV, DSC intrusion alarm systems, and commercial audio-visual solutions.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, can work independently or as part of a team, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling including Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot, and commission Kantech access control systems, including controllers, card readers, locking hardware, request-to-exit devices, and associated field devices.
  • Install, program, troubleshoot, and commission DSC intrusion alarm systems.
  • Install, configure, and commission IP video surveillance systems, including cameras, NVRs, PoE switches, and video management software.
  • Install commercial audio-visual equipment including:
  • Commercial displays and TVs
  • Interactive displays
  • Video bars
  • Cameras and microphones
  • Ceiling and wall-mounted speakers
  • Conference room equipment
  • Configure and commission Poly and Logitech conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
  • Test and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling using industry-standard testing equipment.
  • Read blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
  • Complete system testing, commissioning, and customer demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate installation documentation and as-built drawings.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and other trades.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.
  • Travel to customer sites as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the low-voltage industry.
  • Experience installing and terminating Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
  • Proven experience installing, programming, and commissioning Kantech access control systems.
  • Proven experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting DSC intrusion alarm systems.
  • Experience installing and commissioning commercial IP CCTV systems.
  • Experience installing and configuring commercial audio-visual systems.
  • Experience configuring Poly and Logitech conferencing solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot cabling, access control, intrusion, CCTV, networking, and AV systems.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
  • Comfortable working on ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
  • Ability to work in commercial construction and occupied facilities.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout Ontario and occasionally outside the province.
