Independent Contractor as Driver Helper – White Glove Delivery

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Independent Contractor as a Helper

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES :-

• Assist the truck driver with deliveries as a Driver Helper, including transporting and delivering cabinetry, furniture and appliances to residential and commercial locations.
• Follow proper lifting techniques and use of equipment including dollies, straps, lift gates, ramps
• Perform light installation tasks such as connecting fridge water lines, washer hoses, and dryer ducts, as well as basic assembly of items like parasols, fridge legs, and kitchen cabinetry components.
• Help protect customer property using floor mats, padding, and other protective materials
• Support unpacking, debris removal, and placement according to customer instructions
• Perform basic delivery inspections and assist with photo documentation as required
• Communicate politely, respectfully and professionally with customers and team members with customers and team members
• Take direction from the driver and work collaboratively to complete deliveries safely and efficiently
• Immediately Report any damages, safety concerns, or delivery obstacles immediately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the truck and delivery tools
• Uphold company standards for professionalism, appearance, and customer service at all times
• Work as part of a two-person delivery team handling items up to 250 lbs. Must be physically strong and capable of navigating stairs and multi-level deliveries.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Valid G licence (held for a minimum of 2-3 years)
• Minimum 2 years of White Glove Delivery Helper experience
• Clean driver’s abstract
• Clear criminal background check
• Ability to assemble and install household appliances
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with tools and basic carpentry skills are considered an asset.
• Lift, carry, push, heavy items (up to 250 lbs, with assistance for heavier items) 
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb stairs for extended periods during deliveries 
• Maintain focus, alertness, and professionalism in stressful or time-sensitive situations 
• Communicate effectively with customers and resolve delivery or safety issues in real time 
• Work in varying weather conditions and customer environments  
• Full-time position; up to 10-hour workdays, with flexibility based on business needs Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 
• Regular use of hand tools and delivery equipment (e.g., hand carts, dollies)  Frequent lifting, maneuvering, and positioning of large appliances 
• Prolonged periods of driving and sitting 
• Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling 
• Exposure to outdoor weather condition 
• Fitness for duty is required while operating company vehicles, in accordance with company safety policies
