Porzia’s is a small neighborhood restaurant specializing in Italian classics. Located on Oakwood Ave just off Corso Italia in Toronto’s west end Porzia’s is committed to providing amazing food and wine in a relaxed casual environment.

Porzia’s is growing and we are looking to hire a line cook that will grow with us. We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated individuals committed to creating an inclusive, positive work environment.

5+ years of kitchen experience in a high paced restaurant enviroment

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Committed to creating an inclusive positive work environment
  • Strong and effective communication with all staff
  • Maintain daily cleanliness and sanitation of all production, service areas and equipment
  • Ability to deal with a fast paced environment
  • Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
  • Maintain all food safety and exceeding sanitary requirements
  • Perform delegated tasks from Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, and/or General Manager
  • Day to day food preparation of the restaurant
  • Prepares vegetables, fruit, meat and seafood with great technique and following safe food handling procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining a prep list of station duties and taking effective notes for station set up and service.
  • Performing all opening and closing assignments as instructed
  • Cook, plate and garnish dishes during service while maintaining a clean, efficient professional

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task and conduct one’s self calmly and effectively under pressure
  • Strong and effective communication
  • 2+ years of experience in a full service restaurant environment
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings and nights

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
