Position: Supply Chain Specialist
Location: In Office, 2168 Springfield Road
Role Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Salary: Starting at $50,000; depending on experience

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive individual to join our team as a Supply Chain Specialist. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role is responsible for managing the flow of materials and services from suppliers to HERD, ensuring our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. Through strategic procurement, supplier management, and inventory optimization, you will play a key role in reducing costs, minimizing supply risk, supporting production, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, building strong supplier relationships, and making data-driven decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Your Responsibilities
- Create and manage purchase orders while monitoring deliveries to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze purchasing trends, and recommend improvements to optimize stock and reduce waste.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure compliance with internal purchasing processes.
- Source, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliable service.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and purchasing terms to optimize supplier performance and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to meet material requirements and resolve supply issues.
- Track supplier performance through KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with sourcing materials and components for engineering and R&D projects.
- Research market trends and identify new suppliers to strengthen HERD's supply chain.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or a related field
- Experience in supplier negotiation and vendor relationship management is a strong asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using ERP or inventory management systems
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered a strong asset
