Kitchen Helper – Thai Production

Full-Time | Commissary Kitchen – 129 Railside Road, Toronto
Start Time: 5:00 AM

Our Commissary Kitchen is the heart of our prepared foods operation, producing fresh meals, salads, sandwiches, international cuisine, and specialty products enjoyed across all Summerhill Market locations.

We're currently looking for a dependable, hardworking Kitchen Helper to support our Thai Production Team.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the preparation and production of Thai-inspired prepared meals and specialty products
  • Prepare ingredients including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning vegetables, herbs, proteins, and sauces
  • Follow recipes, production schedules, and portioning standards to ensure consistency and quality
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products for distribution to stores
  • Maintain product quality, freshness, and presentation standards
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of ingredients and finished products
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations throughout the shift
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and stocking inventory
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health and safety procedures
  • Support other kitchen production activities as required

What we're looking for

  • Previous kitchen, food prep, production, restaurant, or commissary experience is an asset
  • Experience working with international cuisine or high-volume food production is considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Food Handler Certification is considered an asset
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry products and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable starting work at 5:00 AM

All entry-level retail and kitchen roles begin at minimum wage ($17.60/hr). Pay is negotiable based on experience.
