Job Overview
We are seeking an highly organized and proactive Grocery Assistant department Manager to support daily operations within our team. This role involves providing administrative support, assisting with merchandising and sales activities, and ensuring smooth communication across departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in retail . supervisory experience is a plus, enabling effective interaction with diverse teams and customers. assistant department managers play a vital role in maintaining efficient store management, supporting sales initiatives, and contributing to a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily store operations including merchandising, pricing, and inventory management
  • Support sales activities through customer service interactions
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts, including interviewing candidates and onboarding new staff
  • Supervise team members, providing training & development to enhance performance
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives to promote products and store events
  • Maintain organizational standards through effective time management and communication skills
  • Support store management with budgeting, purchasing, and store management tasks
  • Ensure excellent phone etiquette and customer service at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in retail sales, store management, or administrative roles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are preferred
  • Supervising experience or team management background is advantageous
  • Experience in recruiting, training & development, marketing, and pricing strategies is desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff and manage projects
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Previous retail management experiences
  • Professional phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills
