Job Description:

IOSi is hiring an Intermediate Windows System & Network Administrator to join our Ottawa-based team. This full-time, in-person role is ideal for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys supporting users, managing Microsoft environments, working with networks and firewalls, and contributing to client-focused technology solutions. Applicants must be located in the Ottawa-Gatineau area or surrounding region and must be available to work on site at client locations.

We support Canadian organizations with dependable IT services, cloud solutions, network administration, security technologies, and end-user support.

As a small and experienced team, IOSi offers the opportunity to work closely with knowledgeable technical staff, contribute directly to client success, and gain exposure to a wide range of business technology environments. RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will provide daily on-site IT support and technical administration services for a client in the Ottawa area. You will work directly with users, IOSi team members, and third-party vendors to resolve issues, maintain systems, and support network-related projects.

1. On-Site Client Support (vehicle required)

  • Provide professional on-site technical support to located in Ottawa region.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated service requests from the Office Coordinator and client users.
  • Respond to urgent technical issues in a timely, organized, and customer-focused manner.
  • Document issue resolution clearly and provide updates to clients who opened support tickets.

2. Network Deployment

  • Support planning and deployment strategies in collaboration with IOSi technical team members.
  • Lead and coordinate on-site deployment activities for network and infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and partners to ensure deployment work is completed effectively.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on experience supporting Microsoft-based environments, business networks, virtualization platforms, and client-facing IT services.

Required qualifications include:

  • Minimum five years of experience in IT system administration, Microsoft networks, operating systems, and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025; Windows 10/11 Professional; and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with networking, Hyper-V Server/cluster, VMware, and UNIX environments.
  • Knowledge of firewall, security, and network administration concepts.
  • College diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Technology.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for on-site client support.

Preferred assets include: current Microsoft certification; experience with Kaseya tools including but not limited to Datto RMM and Autotask, N-able N-central, ConnectWise Manage, WatchGuard and pfSense firewalls, SolarWinds N-central, Lenovo, IBM, HP, and Cisco products; and experience with web application hosting, virtualization, and network security.

PERSONAL SKILLS

We are looking for someone who is professional, dependable, client-focused, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small technical team. The ideal candidate communicates clearly, manages priorities well, provides excellent service to users, and can explain technical issues in a practical and professional manner.

Bilingual English/French communication skills are preferred.
