Full job description
IT Systems Administrator
Build the Infrastructure. Strengthen the Systems. Help Scale the Business.
Renewal by Andersen is the full-service replacement division of Andersen Corporation — a 125-year-old brand and the most recognized name in windows and doors in North America.
In British Columbia, Renewal by Andersen is operated by the Dunn Group — a company known for aggressive growth, operational discipline, and a world-class customer experience.
We are scaling quickly.
And we are looking for an IT Systems Administrator who wants more than just “keeping the lights on.”
We are looking for someone who wants to build, improve, secure, optimize, and modernize the technology infrastructure that supports a rapidly growing organization.
This is an in-office role based in Vancouver, BC, where collaboration, speed, and hands-on problem solving are part of the culture.
The Opportunity - This is not a help desk role.
This is a high-impact infrastructure role for an IT professional who enjoys ownership, solving complex technical challenges, and helping a business scale properly.
You will be a key technical resource responsible for maintaining and evolving our IT environment across servers, networking, Microsoft 365, virtualization, cybersecurity, and cloud systems.
You’ll work closely with leadership and operational teams to ensure our technology environment is stable, secure, efficient, and built for growth.
You will also play a major role in:
- Modernizing systems and processes
- Driving IT projects and infrastructure improvements
- Strengthening cybersecurity and operational resiliency
- Supporting a growing user base across multiple departments
- Creating scalable systems instead of temporary fixes
If you enjoy building structure, improving environments, and being trusted to own critical infrastructure decisions — this is the role for you.
What You’ll Own
Infrastructure & Systems Administration
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization platforms
- Manage Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune
- Oversee VMware/Hyper-V environments and server infrastructure
- Ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance across the organization
Networking & Security
- Manage firewalls, switches, VLANs, VPN connectivity, and wireless infrastructure
- Support cybersecurity initiatives including patch management, endpoint protection, vulnerability remediation, and access control
- Strengthen backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
- Proactively identify risks and implement preventative solutions
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, deployments, and technology rollouts
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies that improve scalability and operational efficiency
- Create documentation, SOPs, diagrams, and technical runbooks
- Help drive automation and process improvement initiatives
Technical Leadership & Support
- Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for technical issues
- Mentor junior IT team members and help elevate technical standards
- Partner with departments across the business to understand operational needs and deliver effective solutions
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5+ years of experience in Systems Administration or Infrastructure Support
- Strong experience with:
- Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 Administration
- VMware or Hyper-V
- Networking infrastructure and firewalls
- Strong understanding of:
- VPNs, VLANs, routing, and wireless networking
- Backup and disaster recovery systems
- IT security best practices
- Experience with Azure or AWS is an asset
- Experience with PowerShell or Python scripting is an asset
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage projects independently and execute with minimal oversight
- Strong documentation and organizational discipline
- Excellent communication and professionalism
Most importantly:
You take ownership.
You do not wait to be told there is a problem.
You proactively improve systems, identify risks before they become outages, and build infrastructure properly.
You enjoy working in an environment where expectations are high, growth is fast, and your work has visible impact.
Why Join Renewal by Andersen – Dunn Group?
- Backed by a 125-year industry leader
- Rapid growth across British Columbia
- Strong operational leadership and investment in technology
- High-performance culture with real accountability
- Opportunity to influence and improve infrastructure at scale
- Collaborative in-office environment with direct access to leadership
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Professional development and certification support
If You’re Looking For…
- A role where you can actually improve systems
- A company that is growing quickly
- An environment where your technical expertise matters
- Real ownership and impact
- A team that values initiative, speed, and accountability
We want to hear from you.
Apply today and help us build the infrastructure that supports world-class growth and execution.
