Full job description

Kitchen Leader / Supervisor (Full-Time & Part-Time)

Famoso Pizzeria + Bar – Heartland Town Centre, Mississauga

Experienced Kitchen Leaders Wanted

Famoso Pizzeria + Bar is a full-service, hospitality-driven Italian restaurant located in Heartland Town Centre in Mississauga. We proudly serve handcrafted pizzas, fresh pasta, Italian sandwiches, salads, appetizers, desserts, and a carefully selected collection of wines and craft beers.

We’re a neighbourhood pizzeria where guests return time and time again because of our exceptional hospitality, welcoming atmosphere, and consistently great food. Every member of our team contributes to creating an outstanding guest experience.

Our kitchen features an open-concept, exposed cooking line, so every member of our Back of House team plays an important role in delivering not only exceptional food, but also the positive energy, professionalism, and teamwork that our guests can see.

We’re currently hiring a Kitchen Leader / Supervisor to work closely with our management team in supporting all aspects of the Back of House operation. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines cooking, coaching, organization, and team development. We’re looking for someone who leads by example, takes pride in their work, and enjoys helping others succeed.

Compensation

  • $23.00 per hour (including gratuity)

Experience

Previous restaurant kitchen experience is required.

Leadership or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset, but is not mandatory. We are looking for someone who demonstrates leadership through professionalism, accountability, strong communication, and a positive attitude.

What You’ll Do:

· Prepare food according to our recipes and quality standards.

· Assist management with all aspects of kitchen operations.

· Lead by example while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

· Coach, motivate, and develop kitchen team members throughout each shift.

· Manage and organize your workstation efficiently.

· Ensure food quality, consistency, food safety, and sanitation standards are maintained at all times.

· Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and sanitary kitchen.

· Assist with inventory, prep planning, organization, and minimizing food waste.

· Support your teammates to ensure smooth, efficient service during busy periods.

· Help create exceptional guest experiences through teamwork, consistency, speed, and attention to detail.

· Work closely with management to maintain and improve operational systems and kitchen procedures.

· Cross-train in selected Front of House responsibilities to better support the overall operation when required.

· Assist with Front of House duties when operational needs require, including supporting service, and other hospitality-focused responsibilities.

· Bring professionalism, positive energy, and a strong work ethic to every shift.

We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:

· Professional, mature, dependable, and accountable.

· Positive, energetic, and approachable.

· A confident leader who enjoys coaching and developing others.

· Calm under pressure and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

· Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.

· Committed to maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and hospitality.

· Willing to learn, grow, and continuously improve.

English Communication:

Because this is a leadership position, the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate clearly in English is essential.

Clear English communication is required to effectively communicate with team members, managers, suppliers, and guests while ensuring food quality, safety, efficiency, and exceptional hospitality. Applicants must be able to communicate confidently and professionally in English. This requirement is non-negotiable.

Additional Requirements:

· Legally eligible to work in Canada.

· Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

· Comfortable working both opening and closing shifts.

· Available to remain until the restaurant is fully closed at the end of scheduled closing shifts. While we are not a late-night restaurant, closing leaders should expect to remain until approximately midnight, and occasionally later depending on business levels and operational requirements.

Scheduling & Availability:

We are open 7 days a week:

Sunday – Thursday: 11:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Friday & Saturday: 11:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Opening leaders may be scheduled before opening, while closing leaders are expected to remain after closing to complete all opening and closing responsibilities.

Although this position is primarily focused on evening leadership shifts, flexibility is important. Scheduling is based on the needs of the business, and we make every reasonable effort to accommodate advance requests for personal commitments because we believe a healthy work-life balance contributes to a strong, successful team.

Why Work With Us?:

At Famoso, we’re more than just a restaurant—we’re a family-oriented team. We work hard, support one another, have fun together, and believe people perform their best when they genuinely enjoy coming to work.

We offer:

· Competitive wage of $23.00 per hour.

· Comprehensive paid training.

· A complimentary staff meal during eligible shifts.

· A supportive, respectful, and positive workplace.

· Flexible scheduling whenever possible.

· A strong commitment to work-life balance.

· Opportunities for growth and advancement.

· A collaborative team culture where everyone’s contributions are valued.

This Is More Than a Kitchen Job:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading by example, helping teammates succeed, solving problems during service, and working alongside management to build an outstanding kitchen culture. This role also supports the overall success of the restaurant and may occasionally assist with Front of House operations when needed.

If you want to make a meaningful impact, take pride in developing others, and be part of a restaurant that values hospitality just as much as great food, we’d love to meet you.

If you believe you can contribute to a positive work environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and are mature, responsible, reliable, and ready to lead, we encourage you to apply.

We’re hiring immediately and look forward to welcoming our next Kitchen Leader to the Famoso family.
