Job Overview
Huron Dental Group is seeking a motivated and organized Dental Administrator to join our exciting team at Lambton Family Dental. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operations of our practice while serving as the first point of contact for our patients, whether in person, by phone, or digitally. Your responsibilities will include clerical support, appointment coordination, patient communication, insurance processing, and assistance with treatment planning.

This role requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your work will directly contribute to a positive patient experience and the overall efficiency of our dental team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily administrative operations within the dental clinic, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Ensure proper provider assignment for all procedure codes.
  • Manage medical records, billing, coding, and documentation using systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, eClinicalWorks, and Epic.
  • Contact pending patients (hygiene, restorative, and major treatment). Check and respond to voicemail and email.
  • Coordinate scheduling for patients and staff while ensuring efficient utilization of clinic resources.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of patient information
  • Check all labs and ensure proper tracking.
  • Complete insurance breakdowns and attach to patient files.
  • Complete and balance petty cash/float each day.
  • Support clinical staff with medical administrative support tasks related to medical records, medical terminology, and documentation accuracy.
  • Assist in practice management activities such as patient flow optimization and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers on managed care, utilization management, and insurance claims processing.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare administration within a dental or medical clinic setting.
  • Able to work in a high paced environment.
  • Familiarity with dental software (Tracker or similar) an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Understanding of dental terminology, insurance processes, and treatment planning preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Work Conditions / Hours of Work

  • Full time position
  • Open working environment using desk/computer
  • Travel may be required between company locations
