Job Overview
We are seeking a full-time optometric assistant to join our front desk team and help us care for our wonderful patients. The ideal candidate is a friendly, outgoing, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about providing excellent customer service. If you thrive in a busy environment, are adept at multi-tasking, and are proficient with computers, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone and emails professionally and efficiently
  • Triage, and schedule patient appointments and follow-up visits
  • Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Maintain patient records and update charts in the electronic health record system.
  • Manage patient flow and ensure that appointments run on time.
  • Assist in preparing patients for eye exams by performing preliminary tests such as AR/NCT
  • Support the optometrist in conducting specialized tests (retinal photos/OCT/VF testing/corneal topography and axial length measurement).
  • Assist patient with frame and lens selection based on doctor’s Rx and occupational/lifestyle needs.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as invoicing, and managing patient referrals

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an Optometrist Assistant is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) software.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certification or training in optometry or healthcare is a plus.
  • Must be available to work on Saturdays

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour
