Full job description

The NeoHealth Heart Team in Sudbury is looking for a Patient Care Representative, or a Medical Office Assistant.

Background

We are a cardiology clinic in Sudbury, ON. We provide a large spectrum of outpatient cardiac diagnostics, including ECG, Holter, stress testing and echocardiography (including stress echo and contrast studies). The clinic is led by Dr. Kumar, a well recognized academic cardiologist. We put an emphasis on providing the best possible patient care, and pride ourselves on going above and beyond for our patients. The clinic engages in academic activities including teaching and research. We cultivate a friendly team culture and have built a motivated and engaged team.

Job description

The PCR/ OA will be expected to assist the physicians with the provision of medical care. This includes, but is not limited to:

- Front line communication, patient flow management

- Management of medical files
- Document patient's vital signs and medical history, diligently and reliably verify medication lists and allergies

- Patient intake/ preparation for doctor's consultation
- Hook up and remove heart monitors (Holters), upload Holter data to the Holter software
- Assist with case management and coordination of patient care, assist medical technologists in their tasks
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards

Requirements

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficient in using electronic medical record systems such Cerebrum and Meditech
- Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
- Previous Experience in nursing home, hospital or medical office is preferred

- must be fluent in spoken and written English. French fluency is desired, if possible.

- Excellent communication skills required
