POSITION POSTING
Position Title: Executive Director
Reports to: NDFHT Board of Directors
Wage: $109, 746.00 annual salary
Benefits: The NDFHT is a participating employer of the Health Care of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), HCSA allocation, Group Insurance Plan.
Position Overview:
The Executive Director is responsible, on behalf of the Board of Directors, for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the North Durham Family Health Team. Acting as a liaison between the Board and the employees and volunteers of the organization, the Executive Director will ensure the appropriate systems and processes are in place for risk management, resource identification and utilization, human resources, financial stewardship, public relations, and integration with community partners. The Executive Director will also serve as a strong advocate for the North Durham Family Health Team with Ontario Health and play an active leadership role in collaboration with the current North Durham Health Home and our regional health partners to support integrated, patient-centered care initiatives.
Some Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational
1) Represent and promote the NDFHT to the community, media, government, other agencies and relevant healthcare providers; manage all public relations.
2)Oversee the development of the annual budget, ability to identify, secure and manage funding applications and report financial status to the Board.
3)Prepare and submit reports to the Ministry of Health and other government agencies in a timely manner and in accordance with legal and statutory requirement.
4)Develop and maintain board education and orientation.
5)Identify and track best practice standards and trends/advances in the Family Health Team field and ensure compliance with these standards and ethical and legal requirements.
Management and Leadership
1) In collaboration with the Board, staff, advisory teams and partners, provide
leadership and expertise in areas of policy, funding, administration, planning,
accountability, and support issues related to the NDFHT.
2) Collaborate with the Board to establish the vision, mission, values and strategic
direction for the NDFHT.
3) Support effective work planning, resource allocation, and human resources
administration (recruitment and selection of talent, performance reviews,
terminations, compensation).
4) Develop initiatives and action plans to support the strategic direction and provide
periodic updates to the Board
5) Provide direction and support to NDFHT programs, with respect to development,
administration, and evaluation.
6) Establish a positive work environment that supports attraction and retention of
staff
7) Collaborate with the Board, and committees, to advance good governance
practices.

Qualifications and Relevant Experience:
1) Graduate degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or
combination of an undergraduate degree with significant management
experience.
2) Previous health care experience is an asset.
3) Demonstrated experience in the area of senior management.
4) Superior leadership, organization, research, evaluation, time management and
communication abilities.
5) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
6) Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task effectively in a very fast paced work
environment.
7) High degree of computer proficiency.
8) While formal financial expertise is not essential, familiarity with accounting or financial management would be beneficial.
