Ontario Family Group Homes Inc. is a trusted and established provider of supported living settings, providing services for children, youth, and adults with intellectual, developmental, and/or behavioural challenges. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our supported living settings. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals looking to make a meaningful impact while developing their careers in the Developmental Services or Child and Youth Work sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and adhere to individualized care plans and structured daily routines
  • Support residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and medication administration
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive home environment
  • Effectively manage crisis situations, including the use of physical intervention techniques when necessary
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and observations in accordance with agency standards
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other service professionals to ensure continuity of care
  • Provide transportation for residents to appointments or community-based activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of a recognized two-year post-secondary diploma in Developmental Services Work (DSW), Child and Youth Care (CYC), or Social Service Work (SSW) (mandatory)
  • Vulnerable Sector Check that has been Issued within the past 12 months. (required)
  • Valid Class G Driver’s License with clean driving record (G1 and G2 not accepted)
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a residential care setting (required)
  • Current UMAB (Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour) certification is considered an asset
  • Strong crisis management, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills
  • Physically able to support residents with mobility needs and perform physical interventions (lifting up to 50 lbs)

Work Schedule

  • 12-hour rotating shifts
  • Availability for day, evening, night, and holiday coverage required
