Occupational Medicine Manager

Location: Multiple Locations / Travel Required
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 CAD annually + up to $20,000 annual performance bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Medicine Manager to provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for our Occupational Medicine (OccMed) department. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of departmental operations, ensuring clinical excellence, supporting business growth initiatives, and developing scalable occupational health programs.

The successful candidate will work closely with leadership, clients, supervisors, and clinical teams to ensure exceptional service delivery, regulatory compliance, and continued growth of the department.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations

  • Supervise booking operations and provide clinical leadership to supervisors and staff.
  • Manage and resolve client concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Address employee concerns and support a positive workplace culture.
  • Support supervisors in day-to-day operations and decision-making.
  • Determine staffing requirements and workforce planning needs.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained, competent, and compliant with company standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure departmental operations remain within approved budgets.

Clinical Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain clinical compliance and adherence to current best practices.
  • Ensure occupational health services are delivered safely, effectively, and consistently.
  • Oversee privacy, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure Health & Safety standards are maintained across all operations.
  • Conduct audits of clinic and client sites to ensure quality and operational consistency.

Business Development & Growth

  • Assist with onboarding new clients and supporting sales initiatives.
  • Support marketing campaigns and business development efforts.
  • Attend industry trade shows and networking events.
  • Develop and scale new occupational health projects and service offerings.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and expansion of the Occupational Medicine division.

Fleet & Asset Management

  • Ensure company fleet vehicles are maintained in accordance with operational requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance schedules and compliance.

Expectations

  • The successful candidate is expected to participate in onsite testing activities a minimum of one (1) day every three (3) months.
  • Regular travel is required to client locations and company-owned clinic sites for audits, operational reviews, relationship management, and process familiarization.

QualificationsRequired

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT), or Medical Doctor (MD).
  • Minimum five (5) years of management experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of clinical healthcare experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale projects.
  • Strong clinical assessment and occupational health knowledge.
  • Excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Experience with privacy, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with new and emerging technologies.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Preferred

  • Occupational health experience.
  • Degree or formal education in management, leadership, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in process improvement, change management, and organizational growth initiatives.
