HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible for leading workflow optimization and functionality improvement within the Electronic Health Record, Epic. The Clinical Informatics Specialist leverages their education and working expertise to develop changes within the EHR that improve the experience of the clinical user and empower high quality patient care. The Specialist will work in collaboration with the PRHC Informatics leadership team, staff, physicians, medical affairs, Central East Regional Team and Epic in translating system/application options, configurations and workflows in a manner that assists teams and individuals to utilize the system safely and effectively. The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides real-time support for EPIC related issues and works with teams to build PRHC specific tools in EPIC. This role is primarily responsible for the development, communication, and execution of clinical requirements from PRHC’s EPIC instance. The Clinical Informatics Specialist provides regular user support by troubleshooting issues while also developing new workflows that make using Epic more efficient and user friendly in the long term. The Clinical Informatics Specialist is responsible to provide services that support all Electronic Health Record users, including physicians, nurses, allied health, nurse practitioners, clerks, leaders, and all other users of Epic.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Epic certification (trainer or builder level) in at least one application, or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Project Management and/or Quality Improvement
  • PMP or CSM preferred, but not required.
  • Clinical Certification preferred: RN, RPN, Lab tech, Pharmacy technician

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 5+ years working in a Clinical area
  • 2+ years implementation and build experience with Epic
  • Experience in workflow design and documentation, system configuration and testing
  • Strong project management skills and experience.
  • Expertise in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility with respect to changing timelines and delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships while resolving issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to reprioritize tasks.
  • Strong collaboration and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work with strained software users in supporting the use of the EHR in the organization
