Full job description

Mathematics Teacher – September 2026

This is not a standard teaching position.

Renert School, located in Royal Oak, is widely recognized as offering one of Canada’s leading mathematics programs. Our Bright Minds Mathematics program, developed in-house, is both ambitious and well proven, as reflected in approximately 1,500 awards and acknowledgments earned by our students each year across 19 mathematics competitions.

We develop a deep love of mathematics in our students starting in Kindergarten, and allow students to progress at their own pace. The results speak for themselves. Students typically complete their diploma examinations in Grade 9 or 10, with class averages in the high 90s, a historical high in Alberta, and go on to study university mathematics in higher grades.

Renert School is looking for teachers who genuinely love mathematics and want to teach it in a way that is rigorous, creative, and intellectually engaging. At Renert School, mathematics is not treated as a routine subject. It is something to be explored, played with, and pursued deeply. We take students’ curiosity seriously and build programs that develop analytical strength that is later applied in other disciplines.

We are seeking exceptional mathematics teacher to join this program beginning in September 2026. This role offers meaningful growth for someone who is motivated, reflective, and always growing.

You should not apply unless all of the following are true:

  • You hold a valid teaching certificate (from Alberta or another jurisdiction).
  • You have a solid mathematical background (a degree in mathematics or a closely related field is strongly preferred).
  • You genuinely enjoy mathematics and can communicate that enthusiasm to students of different ages.
  • You have a strong track record working successfully with children and can provide excellent references.
  • You work well within a team and are open to feedback, training, and continuous improvement.
  • (preferred) You have experience in related fields (Computing, Physics, Engineering).

Renert School's mathematics department is a stimulating and highly rewarding environment. It suits teachers who want to be part of a program that constantly seeks to achieve new heights of pedagogical excellence in mathematics.

We welcome applications from both experienced teachers seeking a more engaging and ambitious setting, and early-career educators who bring a deep passion for mathematics.

If this resonates with you, please submit a cover letter outlining how you meet the requirements of the position, along with your university transcripts.
