Your Role
Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Health & Safety Coordinator plays a key role in supporting and strengthening Cachet’s health and safety culture across all active construction sites. This position requires a seasoned professional with 5+ years of construction health and safety experience who can confidently manage day‑to‑day site safety requirements while also supporting broader program initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and proactively resolve issues
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Cachet’s Health & Safety Program
- Ensure all safety documentation, inspections, and corrective actions are completed, tracked, and organized
- Install and maintain safety rails and other required safety materials
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant work environment at all times
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and training materials
- Participate in incident investigations and support root‑cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Support monitoring of site conditions, worker safety performance, and adherence to provincial legislation
- Assist in preparing reports, trend analyses, and recommendations for continuous improvement
- Support delivery of toolbox talks, orientations, and safety training sessions
- Chair JHSC meetings and site safety meetings as required
- Build strong relationships with inspectors, trade partners, and internal teams
- Work closely with Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Assist with WSIB documentation, modified duties coordination, and return‑to‑work processes
- Support corporate‑level audits and compliance initiatives
What You Bring:
- 5+ years or more of residential construction experience in health and safety in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Extensive knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other health and safety regulations.
- Health & safety training and certifications (NCSO, CRSP, CHSC, CSP, etc.) considered strong assets
- Experience supporting or contributing to corporate H&S programs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, both oral and written. Willing to take responsibility and be held accountable for results
- Skills building relationships with a broad network of contacts, including trade partners, inspectors, and suppliers
- Proficient with MS Office
- Experience with NEWSTAR an asset
- Experience with COR is an asset
