Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical office environment. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with electronic health record systems such as Telus Health, along with strong communication skills, are essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing excellent customer service
  • Manage phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, verifying insurance information and updating records
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using systems
  • Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and follow-up reminders for patients
  • Support clinical staff by preparing patient charts and documentation as needed
  • Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Medical Office Assistant preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such Telus Health
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with multi-line phone systems and front desk operations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
