POSITION

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision, leadership, coaching, and performance management of Personal Support Workers within a long-term care home. The Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care that complies with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, Ministry of Long-Term Care standards, organizational policies, infection prevention and control practices, and all applicable legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal Support Worker Certificate in compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 regulations for PSW qualifications
  • Required minimum 2 years of PSW supervisory, team lead, or management experience preference in long-term care facility
  • Diploma or degree in Nursing
  • Demonstrated experience supervising Personal Support Workers.
  • Experience with resident-centered care, dementia care, palliative care, and responsive behaviours.
  • Experience in scheduling, staffing coordination, attendance management, and performance management.
  • Certificate in Leadership, Supervision, or Healthcare Management is considered an asset.

Knowledge

  • Ontario's Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021 and Regulations.
  • Resident Rights and Residents' Bill of Rights.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) standards.
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) requirements.
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
  • Privacy legislation including PHIPA.
  • Collective agreements knowledge
