Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to support our pharmacy team in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in pharmacy operations,) retail pharmacy, critical care, and hospital settings. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in medication preparation, patient service, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Your commitment to accuracy and patient-centered service will contribute significantly to our healthcare team’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, including preparation of prescriptions and medication labeling.
  • Support medication inventory management, ensuring proper stock levels and storage conditions.
  • Perform intake procedures for new prescriptions, verifying patient information and prescription details accurately.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during sterile compounding and IV infusion preparation to ensure patient safety.
  • Provide excellent patient service by answering inquiries, offering medication guidance, and supporting medication administration processes.
  • Ensure adherence to medical terminology standards and hospital protocols during all pharmacy operations.
  • Contribute to the safe handling and disposal of medications in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals in acute care and critical care environments to facilitate efficient medication delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or assistant within Retail pharmacy
  • Minimum experience of 1 year required.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations .
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate intake and medication processing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
