EPC Canada is a dynamic and rapidly expanding company. It is 100% owned by the EPC Group, an international manufacturer of commercial explosives with extensive experience and expertise in storage and distribution in the mining, construction, and quarrying industries.

EPC Canada is seeking an AZ Truck Driver for its explosive products manufacturing and distribution site in Ontario. Reporting to the Logistic Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible to deliver our products to our customers safely, efficiently, on time, and in compliance with standards, throughout Canada. They will also be accountable for establishing and maintaining effective liaisons and collaboration with colleagues and managers at their site and across other departments, sites, and functions.

Role & Responsibilities

- Ensure the safe delivery of hazardous materials by complying with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures, as well as the logistics plan established by the supervisor;

- Perform daily inspections and maintenance of the truck’s systems, equipment, and accessories (Prestone, oil, windshield washer fluid, snow removal equipment, etc.);

- Verify that the load matches the customer’s order;

- Load and secure the cargo according to the scheduled pickup/delivery;

- Secure the trailer properly and safely and ensure the load is padlocked;

- Ensure the unloading of products upon arrival at the destination (client company) using the pallets designated for this purpose;

- Record driving information in the electronic log (ISAAC);

- Ensure that customer needs are met and satisfaction is achieved, and act as a representative of the company;

- Comply with laws and regulations governing the operation of heavy vehicles, including safety checks, driving hours, and defensive driving;

- Perform all other related tasks.

Required Qualifications

- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent;

- Hold a valid Class 1 (heavy vehicles) and Class 5 (passenger vehicles) driver’s license;

- Have at least one (1) year of trucking experience and a clean driving record;

- Be in good physical condition and able to handle (lift and set down) loads ranging from 5 kg to 25 kg and move (push and pull) loads of up to 1,250 kg using a manual pallet jack;

- Be comfortable using electronic driving software (ISAAC);

- Have no legal impediments related to employment;

- Be familiar with explosive products and regulations regarding the transport of hazardous materials (an asset).

Conditions of Employment

- Permanent position, full time;

- Schedule of 40 hours per week, mostly Monday to Friday;

- Be comfortable traveling long distances and leaving for work for several consecutive days;

- Be available at the end of the day and weekends (on rotation) for delivery departures and arrivals according to customer needs, and possibility of working overtime after 40 hours worked;

- Have an interest in working in an outdoor environment with climatic variations.
