Full job description

Chaberton Estate Winery is the largest estate winery in the Fraser Valley and one of the oldest in B.C. Located on 55 acres in The Township of Langley (45 minutes from Vancouver), Chaberton produces award winning wines from grapes from its own property as well as grapes from selected Okanagan and Similkameen Valley Vineyards to facilitate an annual production of over 40,000 cases.

The Candidate

Chaberton Winery seeks 2 motivated Vintage Cellar Hands to join our Chaberton team for 2026 Vintage. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, nice sense of humor, hardworking and have strong desire to make good wine. Full-time permanent position will be offered post-harvest to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

· Receiving, processing and pressing grapes (operating must pump, crusher de-stemmer, 8 and 20 ton press)

· Transferring and racking tanks

· Fermentation management: Inoculations, nutrient additions, sampling, pump overs, punch downs, sugar monitoring, and digging out of fermenters

· Cellar sanitation: Tank & barrel cleaning, general cleaning of facility and winery equipment

· Conducting basic lab analysis (TA, pH, VA, SO2, Brix)

· Operating a forklift (stacking barrels, dumping grapes into the hoper)

· Carrying out barrel operations (filling, topping, racking)

Job Requirements:

· A positive attitude

· Hardworking and enthusiastic

· Strong team player

· Ability to work independently and as part of the team

· Excellent communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking

· Some post-secondary university education, degrees with a specialization Winemaking or equivalent considered an asset

· Excellent forklift skills is an asset

· Lab experience would be considered as an asset

· Ability to work at heights

· Ability to lift 55 lbs

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
