Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Barista & Kitchen Team Member to join our team. This hybrid role is ideal for someone who enjoys both preparing quality beverages and supporting food production in a fast-paced café environment. You will play an important role in delivering exceptional customer experiences by preparing coffee, food, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

ResponsibilitiesBarista Duties

  • Prepare and serve a variety of espresso-based beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to established recipes and standards.
  • Provide friendly and attentive customer service, assisting guests with menu selections and orders.
  • Operate the POS system, process transactions accurately, and handle cash responsibly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, beverage station, and customer areas.
  • Promote featured products, seasonal offerings, and café specials.

Kitchen & Food Preparation Duties

  • Prepare sandwiches, wraps, salads, breakfast items, and other menu offerings according to recipes and food safety standards.
  • Assist with food prep, portioning, stocking, and kitchen organization.
  • Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
  • Assist with receiving and storing inventory properly.

General Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with team members during busy service periods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support café operations wherever needed to ensure an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, food service, or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience as a barista, line cook, prep cook, or food service worker is considered an asset.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic cash handling and POS experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of food safety and food handling practices is preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required.
