Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general facility upkeep across multiple properties and business locations. The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, a proactive approach to maintenance, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
  • Complete general carpentry, painting, drywall, flooring, and minor renovation work.
  • Repair doors, locks, windows, hardware, fixtures, and other building components.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, toilets, drains, and fixtures.
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance such as replacing switches, outlets, ballasts, and lighting fixtures where permitted.
  • Conduct regular building inspections and identify maintenance deficiencies.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and service calls.
  • Assist with the implementation and execution of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintain maintenance schedules and inspection records.
  • Monitor facility systems to identify issues before they become major repairs.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities remain in safe working condition.
  • Assist with unit turnovers, property preparation, and general site maintenance.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers as required.
  • Support emergency repairs and after-hours maintenance situations when necessary.
  • Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.

  • Report hazards, incidents, and maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
  • Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance, facilities, construction, property maintenance, or related experience.
  • Experience with basic carpentry, drywall, painting, plumbing, and general repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.
