Job Summary

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Registered Practical Nurse to work as part of inter-disciplinary teams led by committed family physicians in the Hamilton area. Winterberry Family Medicine serves as a focus for primary care management, community-based health promotion and disease prevention programs and activities. Working collaboratively with a physician and other interdisciplinary team members, serving a large rostered patient population, an opportunity exists for a Permanent Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse to significantly shape and influence health outcomes for the Hamilton community.

Schedule:

  • Every Saturday (mandatory)
  • One additional weekday/evening shift guaranteed each week
  • Availability to cover occasional sick calls

Responsibilities and Duties

You will work within the full scope of practice in a patient-centred model of care with a team of highly motivated allied health care professionals including, dietitians and mental health counsellors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • You must hold a current certification of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and maintain membership with the RPNAO.
  • An understanding of computers is essential, including the use of electronic medical records. Experience with PS Suite EMR would be an asset.
  • This position requires excellent health assessment/clinical skills and the ability to perform the full range of duties and responsibilities. While primary care experience is preferred, an orientation to primary care will be provided.
