As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a skilled and motivated After-Hours Operations Support team member to join our organization.

Position Overview

The After-Hours Operations Support is an on-site role at Musket Transport Burlington; you will coordinate and monitor refrigerated shipments, drivers, and equipment outside regular business hours. You will support drivers during loading and unloading, monitor reefer temperatures, prepare customs documentation, update customers, and respond quickly when delays or operational issues arise.

Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills will be essential to ensuring shipments remain on schedule and customer requirements are met.

Duties

  • Prepare and process ACI/ACE documentation for shipments loading after regular business hours.
  • Send required customs paperwork to the customs broker for the following day’s shipments.
  • Monitor drivers during loading, unloading, and transit, providing instructions and operational support as needed.
  • Update customers with pickup and delivery arrival, loading, unloading, and departure times, including any expected delays.
  • Maintain accurate load and shipment statuses in company systems
  • Adjust driver dispatch assignments and loads as operational challenges arise.
  • Monitor the Reefer Operations email inbox and respond to time-sensitive requests.
  • Monitor reefer temperatures and promptly address temperature concerns or alerts.
  • Respond to service disruptions, including delays, equipment issues, breakdowns, and changes to customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and work with Customer Service, Operations, and other departments to support safe and on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, or a related operational role is preferred.
  • Experience with refrigerated transportation and temperature-controlled shipments is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of ACI, ACE, and cross-border customs documentation is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on accurate documentation and data entry.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
