Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Cantonese Speaking Home Support Worker to provide in-home care and assistance to clients in need of senior care, disability support, or post-illness recovery. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Cantonese and possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities. This role involves working closely with clients to deliver personalized care in a respectful and professional manner, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.

Duties

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
  • Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments through engaging activities and companionship
  • Assist with transfers and heavy lifting as needed, ensuring safety protocols are followed
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals for medication management and health updates
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
  • Help with errands such as grocery shopping or appointment transportation when required

Qualifications

  • Fluency in Cantonese is required; proficiency in English is preferred
  • Experience in assisted living, home care, nursing home, or hospice care is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, working with individuals with disabilities, and caregiving best practices
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate attitude towards clients of all ages and backgrounds
  • Previous experience with medication administration, meal preparation, and basic nursing tasks is advantageous
  • Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties
  • Certification in caregiving or relevant healthcare training is a plus but not mandatory
