Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our mining service team. PM Technicians are responsible for ensuring that machinery and equipment are always in perfect working conditions. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and preventing major breakdowns that could disrupt operations. The technician must also manage maintenance operations, collaborate with other team members, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Duties

• Perform oil changes and lubrication services on a variety of mining and heavy equipment using hand tools and power tools
• Inspect equipment for potential issues and communicate findings management.
• Replace filters, fluids, and other essential components as part of routine maintenance
• Use mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs and troubleshooting when necessary
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety and efficiency
• Assist with inventory management of parts and supplies needed for daily operations
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of heavy lifting techniques and personal protective equipment

Experience

• Lubrication service and maintenance of a variety of equipment including, Excavators, Dozers, Rock Trucks, Heavy Haulers, Graders, Scrapers and Loaders.
• Diagnosing & completing preventive maintenance on all company equipment.
• Greasing booms, pulleys, buckets, and other components of heavy equipment.
• Lubricating running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks, or heavy equipment.
• Performing work effectively and safely in shops or outdoor construction site environments.
• Ensuring service trucks are kept clean, organized, and always maintained properly and ready for use.
• Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel. Perform JSA and FLHA’s as required.
• Demonstrate exceptional judgement and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrating versatility in collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
• Operate 2-way radio
• Perform labour duties as / when required.
• Assist ground personnel as / when required.
• Other duties as / when assigned

Note:

• This position is located in Fort McMurray, AB.
• Shift is a 14 days on 14 days off - Day & Night rotation
• Camp placement at Fort Hills or CNRL
• Expected hours: No less than 84 per week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
