Full job description

The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Riverport | Richmond is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The individual reports to the General Manager and Maintenance Manager as well as other department heads as needed.

The property features amenities such as complimentary hot buffet breakfast, indoor swimming pool, hot tub, basketball court and fitness facilities, business centre as well as on-demand airport shuttle service.

Job Description:

  • Repairs daily deficiencies and breakdowns including general maintenance, HVAC, kitchen cabinets, locksmithing, carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
  • Prioritizes and maintains the repair program which emphasizes guest satisfaction and health & safety.
  • Maintains the facilities and equipment by conducting regular inspections,
  • Assists in the inspection of work completed by 3rd party contractors.
  • Maintains the detailed preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, grounds keeping and public areas.
  • Follows the fire presentation program.
  • Takes prompt action in emergency situations.
  • Assists in managing the mechanical, electrical, blue prints and other maintenance logs.
  • Pool maintenance and water quality testing.
  • Establishes positive relationships with suppliers to ensure superior service.
  • Uses the necessary parts and tools.
  • Be available on an "on-call" basis during off hours for emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 year hotel maintenance experience would be an asset.
  • 1-2 years previous maintenance experience as required.
  • Assist in driving the hotel shuttle to and from YVR.
  • Experience with hotel and facility maintenance preferred.
  • Knowledge of plumbing practices.
  • Pool maintenance experience and/or pool operators certificate an asset.
  • Must be knowledgable in provincial health and safety regulations.
  • Possess strong guest service skills to ensure superior guest service.
  • Must have exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • Team-player who is able to recognize the value of guests and associates.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and can multitask.
  • Availability to work Thursday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Monday 06:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
