We are currently looking to hire our next great team member for the position of a Remote Field Service Technician. The successful candidate must have the willingness and ability to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated technician who enjoys working independently, solving mechanical problems, and providing exceptional service directly at customer locations.

What You'll Do

As a Remote Field Service Technician, you will play a key role in supporting customers by diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and servicing aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and related equipment in the field. Your work helps ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and productive while providing customers with responsive service and expert technical support.

  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, and related equipment at customer sites and branch locations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel-system, and mechanical issues using OEM specifications, schematics, and approved service procedures.
  • Complete preventative maintenance programs and scheduled service requirements to maintain fleet readiness.
  • Replace, repair, recondition, and install components and parts on rental equipment and related machinery.
  • Respond to service calls and provide timely, professional support to customers in the field.
  • Complete accurate service documentation, repair notes, parts usage records, and work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service vehicle, tools, equipment, and work area.
  • Follow all company and customer site safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

What Makes You Successful

  • You are safety-minded and committed to delivering quality work.
  • You have strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • You enjoy working independently and managing your own schedule and priorities.
  • You communicate professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • You take ownership of repair quality, documentation accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • You are dependable, adaptable, and willing to travel to support customers wherever needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and servicing equipment, vehicles, heavy equipment, aerial lifts, telehandlers, forklifts, or similar machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, electrical, fuel-system, and mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, technical manuals, and manufacturer service documentation.
  • Valid driver's licence with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently in remote field environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively and work away from home for extended periods as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Basic computer skills required to complete electronic work orders, service reports, and repair documentation.
  • Ability to work legally in Canada.

Preferred

  • Experience in the equipment rental industry.
  • Experience servicing heavy equipment, construction equipment, material handling equipment, aerial work platforms, or industrial equipment.
  • Journeyperson or Red Seal certification in a related trade is considered an asset.
