Van Belle Nursery Inc. is a family-owned wholesale nursery located in the picturesque Fraser Valley, BC. Since 1973, we have transformed from a small landscape supply farm into a 100-acre operation with advanced facilities dedicated to producing top-quality plants for growers and garden centers across North America.

Summary

We are seeking Seasonal Laborers for the year 2026 to join our team at Van Belle Nursery Inc. This role is essential in supporting our operations by assisting with various tasks related to plant production and maintenance. Your contributions will directly impact our mission of providing exceptional quality plants while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare soil, plant bulbs, seeds and cuttings, graft and bud plants, and transplant seedlings and rooted cuttings
  • Monitor plants for healthy growth and potential weed, insect, disease, and fertilizer problems in greenhouse crops
  • Spray trees, shrubs, flowers and plants to prevent disease and pests
  • Position and regulate greenhouse and outdoor irrigation systems to water plants and fields
  • Dig, cut and transplant trees, shrubs, flowers and plants and prepare them for sale
  • Provide information to customers on gardening, the use of various garden tools and products and the care of trees, shrubs, flowers, plants and lawns
  • May operate tractors and other machinery and equipment to fertilize, cultivate, harvest and spray fields and plants
  • Maintain inventory and order materials as required
  • Packing & shipping
  • Clean working areas

Requirements

  • English: Basic level (ability to understand instructions and technical manuals).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • On-the-job training is provided.
  • A provincial license to apply chemical fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides and pesticides may be required.
  • Currently have your PR or Canadian Citizenship

Job Type: Seasonal

Contract length: 6 months in 2026

Salary rate: $17.85/hr

Ability to commute/relocate to Abbotsford, BC is required

Work Location: In person
