Full job description

We are currently seeking all levels of Telecom Tower Technician to join the Wesbell team in performing all tasks required to fully civilly construct wireless equipment on rooftop and tower environments.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assemble or erect communication towers using construction or rigging equipment
  • Check antenna positioning to ensure specified azimuths or mechanical tilts and adjust as necessary
  • Climb communications towers to install, replace or repair antennas or auxiliary equipment used to transmit and receive radio waves
  • Install all necessary transmission equipment components including antennas or antenna mounts, surge arrestors, transmission lines, connectors or tower mounted amplifiers (TMA’s)
  • Install, connect or test underground or above ground grounding systems
  • Perform maintenance or repair work on existing tower equipment using hand or power tools
  • Perform general ground procedures, such as assembly of Microwave Dishes and steel structure assembly.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned

Education (Theoretical Training)

  • College, GED, vocational or technical training preferred
  • ANRITSU SITE MASTER Vendor Training or 2 years experience with ANRITSU product/equipment/technology
  • Ability to properly use coaxial prep tools
  • Andrews coaxial connectorization course and/or training
  • Strong knowledge of dish orientation and path alignment
  • Strong knowledge of antenna azimuth and tilt

Job Requirements & Experience

  • Must be comfortable working at heights or in confined space
  • Must have hands on experience with tower erection, antenna, dish, RF transmission line, copper and fiber systems (not required for Green Level)
  • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints and engineered drawings
  • Good understanding of wireless communication systems
  • Good understanding of industry standard installation guidelines
  • Good knowledge of the operation and safety requirements of power tools
  • General working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude is required
  • Good understanding of electricity and electrical safety
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract
  • May require use of personal vehicle
  • May be required to travel and work weekends, nights if required by customer
  • Must be a team player and possess a positive and professional attitude towards work and others
  • Fluent in English, written and oral
