Responsibilities

Depending on your role, you may:

✅ Research, write, edit, and publish accurate news stories.

✅ Cover Canadian politics, immigration, business, education, community events, municipal government, and breaking news.

✅ Produce engaging video, multimedia, graphics, podcasts, and social media content.

✅ Optimize articles using SEO best practices.

✅ Publish and manage content using WordPress.

✅ Translate and localize Canadian news for multilingual audiences.

✅ Conduct interviews and attend community events.

✅ Work collaboratively with editors, producers, photographers, and digital teams.

✅ Meet editorial deadlines while maintaining high journalistic standards.

✅ Build relationships with advertisers, community organizations, and business partners.

Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who have:

✔ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

✔ Strong research, interviewing, and fact-checking abilities.

✔ Journalism, communications, marketing, media, or related education is an asset.

✔ Experience with WordPress, SEO, Google Workspace, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools is beneficial.

✔ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

✔ Strong organizational and time-management skills.

✔ Multilingual skills are highly valued.

✔ Canadian work authorization is preferred for Canada-based positions.
